Bergen Kommune is a community portal of the city of Bergen. It is one example of local government portals using e-Gov 2.0 solutions for communication with residents. Via the portal, a user has access to all necessary information on the services provided by the local government, including health care, environment protection, or cultural events.
The website is extensive in the section including information for job seekers and immigrants. A user can send their resume via the website, as well as contact an institution providing assistance in finding a job. Foreigners can also find information on conditions required to obtain work permit, as well as can download necessary documents.
Furthermore, the website comprises a collection of public data made available as part of implementation of the open data policy. Users can review information on the municipal budget expenditure, budget proposals for the next year (including all projects of parties having their representatives in the council), information about building plans for each plot located within the territory of the municipality.
