2. Implementation's characteristics
The Central Repository of Public Information is an application that allows access and re-use of so-called information resources – “public information of special importance for the development of innovation in the country and the development of the information society and making-up elements of the information resource of public information (e.g. text, report, chart, presentation, invoice, law, note, regulation, writing). Based on the information resource, innovative products and services, e.g. mobile applications or Internet services, can be developed.”
Public information stored in CRIP can be accessed via a dedicated websitehttps://danepubliczne.gov.pl.
A website user has access to information resources in specific areas (public administration, business and economy, work and social welfare etc.). They can browse through information resources according to a subjective criterion, categories or keywords, as well as using a search engine. After searching, a user has access to metadata and links to related resources and units of public information. The website contains necessary information about an information resource selected by a user, including a description of the resource, terms of re-use, date of sharing, and update frequency, and an address the resource can be downloaded from. The website also contains a symbol and a name of an area, the resource belongs to, as well as an institution that supplies it.
At the level of searching for information stored in the TCRP [Polish: CRIP], a user can take advantage of the resources anonymously. The TCRP application also provides for the creation of individual accounts in the system. Creating an account requires an email address and a password. Registration and signing in to the website is required when using the system when using the system functions such as creating individual lists of information resources or access to the search history –on a website containing information resource when the resource is browsed by a signed-in user, there is an additional function available – ‘add to watch list’. The signed-in user has their own ‘cockpit’, where they can view their search history, and the resources from the watch list. ‘Remove from watch list’ function is also available. In addition, a user can
submit observations (a separate form is prepared) for an information resource. Observations do not appear on the website, but is delivered to the administrator of the TCRP, depending on what recipient the user selects.
The TCRP system allows to use the website (browsing resources, creating and editing them) via API.
The website is not integrated with social networking media, nor does it have any accounts on the above media.
