The Ofgem website is primarily informative. It provides information about:
- The office (organization, structure, policy, cooperation with other entities),
- practical information on energy and gas to be used by both individual and group consumers (enterprises, industry) (change of supplier, complaints, bills, tips on how to save, etc),
- information on the gas market, energy and programs concerning renewable energy,
- source materials to legal provisions relating to the gas and energy market.
Via the “investigation” interface (proceedings carried against energy and gas producers and suppliers), the website allows each user (consumer, producer, individual person) to check whether a specific company/enterprise was/is not subject to the Office investigation (whether it complies with laws applicable in the UK in the matter of production and supply of energy and gas).
“Consultations” interface indicates what procedures/proceedings are being publicly consulted. One can obtain information on conducted consultations as well as participate in them. The application also allows to subscribe information about other consultations.
The website is integrated with social networking sites such as youtube and twitter.

Subsite concerning investigation – proceedings carried out by the office regarding energy and gas companies. Using a drop down menu and indicating a company, a client can check whether any investigation was/is carried with regards to the company.

Subsite indicating what proceedings/documents/procedures are subject to public consultation – clicking on a link opens a website comprising data with regards to a specific consultation process and an address for leaving feedback; also an application is available which allows receiving information on other consultations
